African Mom and Hybrid Mom

Who is an African mom?  Who is a hybrid mom? Having brought up with an African mom in an African home I decided is best to write this blog post. 

Let's start with an African mom, who is an African mom? An African mom is one who will beat you for doing what she said, surprised! Growing up my mom used to talk the opposite of what she intended to say. There were those days when she could say, " Cook and leave the utensils I will wash when I return. " This was a punishment calling if you will just do as she had said. But thank God we survived. 

The best way to define who is a hybrid mom is by this example, when a child breaks a flask, hybrid mom will hug the child and wipe the tears, the opposite is a dream for an African mom, whenever she sends you to carry the flask, you carry it like your whole life depends on it. The distance is always million miles, you must say silent prayers to keep the flask alive. In other words hybrid mom is a digital or modern mom they have revolved.

An African mom will never mention anything about sex or relationships just warnings. She will be like, "I don't want to see you standing with boys along the road...if you become pregnant don't come to my house." The faithful obident girl will obey the mother but this is where life becomes interesting when the girl turns twenty-nine without getting married. An African mom will visit preachers, prophet just to "break" the evil spells, curses and eyes so the daughter can get married. 

Hybrid mom she will talk openly about sex, dating and relationships. They will agree to meet the other sex friend with a glad heart but when you look closely parenting is just a skill and no one can be perfect at it. 

A times I ask myself these questions who is to be blamed when the child goes astray?  

Talking about relationships and sex will it create the "spirit of adventure"?
